Medical Answering Services Gear Up for the Holidays

New York City may be city that never sleeps, but the hospital systems in our country are medical answering services the ones that never even take a break.  The  holiday season is almost here and for a large majority of us, that means time off from work to spend with family and friends.  However, there are a certain number of professions that require 24/7 access no matter what day of the year it is.  You have most likely experienced this at least once in your life already: a holiday visit to a sick relative in the hospital, that friend who had her baby on Christmas Day, or even an incident at a holiday get-together that required a trip to the emergency room.  In each of those examples, there was a whole team of people who were working through the holiday to ensure the comfort and care of those patients.

The Importance of Communication

No one expects to have an emergency over the holidays, but, with so many people participating in celebrations and activities that are outside of their normal daily routines, these incidents seem to happen more often over the holidays than usual.  If you do have a serious need to reach your doctor’s office, a hospital or another type of medical facility, you won’t care what day of the year it is; you just want your call to go through to a live person that can help you with your issue.  Although medical answering services provide this phone support throughout the year, the holidays are our busiest season.  We put a lot of effort into coordinating on call information with each office and making sure we are properly staffed so we are able to manage the call volume that results from offices being closed.  We work hard to do our part in helping our clients communicate effectively with their patients and patients’ loved ones so that things can run a little smoother during challenging times.

Celebrate, But Be Safe!

It may sound a little funny, but as a provider of medical answering services, we would be happy to NOT hear from you this holiday season (since that would mean everything is fine!).  However, if for some reason you need to get in touch with your medical service provider, we will be here providing prompt, friendly and seamless communications to help you in your time of need.  From all of us at Main Line TeleCommunications, we wish you safe and happy holidays!
