Unfortunate Reminder – Professional Answering Service Talks Hurricane Sandy
Today is Halloween, but instead of celebrating an enjoyable holiday, many of our fellow Americans are in
The Reminder
Adverse events on a large scale do happen with some frequency around the world, but for those individuals directly in the path of this storm (including us!) it feels like one of those ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ events. It also serves as a stark reminder that we need to have a plan in place – including what to do in a ‘worst-case-scenario’. For your business, that includes a communications plan so you can be reached by your clients and/or share important information with them, even when it becomes more difficult to do so.
Unprecedented Event
As a professional answering service, we get very busy during severe weather events. We have supported our clients’ communications needs during floods, blizzards, hurricanes and more, yet I do believe that this particular storm has generated the highest call volumes we have ever experienced in our 50+ years of business.
Final Thoughts
I’ll keep this week’s post short (since we still have a good bit more work to do), but I would like to leave you with this final message: For those adversely affected by Hurricane Sandy – our thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery. For those that dodged the bullet, enjoy your Halloween – but don’t ignore the obvious any longer. Bad things can happen, so be sure you have a plan in place both professionally and personally. A little bit of planning can make a real difference if and when the time comes to use it.
